Tri-Bot - Named "Gizmo"
![[Tri-Bot]](../../images/tribot.png)
The Tri-Bot is what WowWee Robotics calls "The next
in the RoboSapien Line". This robot came out after the RS Media. It is
a definite step down from the other RoboSapiens and I wouldn't even consider it a RoboSapien. But it is a
cute robot nonetheless. This robot features a pop-top head that contains a hidden square LED light and side
circular tubes for "ears" which also fly out when he "blows his stack". The robot talks in pre-programmed
phrases in a cartoon voice. This robot is limited in features but they include 3 games of a similar variety,
a remote control unit that features a tilt-based interface for movement (in addition to the normal movement
buttons), a 10-minute timer which he blows his stack and runs around until you bop him on the head, and a gaurd
mode. He also has an autonomous free-roam feature in which he keeps going until he detects an obsticle and then
changes direction while continuously talking. The robot is quite hyper and amusing. The robot does have arms
and hands but only the arms are posable in two parts. They do not move on their own or via remote control.
I got my Tri-Bot from Amazon.com in December 2009 for only
$39. I named mine "Gizmo". At first, his eyebrows were making loud clacking noises and continuously. But after
a short fall, it seems to have fixed itself and I haven't had a problem since.
