The RoboSapien V2 is the second version of the RoboSapien line from WowWee Robotics. This is an improvement over the original version which did not speak English, but implemented noises and grunts. Like the original, the V2 can play back pre-programmed moves, and can be moved via remote controller. The V2 is also autonomous and will roam around and avoid obsticles. It is also programmed to use included bowling ball and pins to bowl, and to put the bowling pin back with the others. It features color camera with limited RGB color recognition, a homing device on the remote, and better claw-like "fingers" on the hands, which I think is still better than what was done with the RoboSapien RS Media. This robot is discontinued by the manufacturer but can still be bought via auction sites and some online stores but they could be expensive.

I obtained my RoboSapien V2 from eBay in April 2009 for only around $40. My version does not seem to have faulty wiring and has been working well since it arrived. I have named my RoboSapien V2 "VeeToo" which is a play off the version number.

WARNING: There have been some units which were manufactured with faulting insulation on the wires, which resulted in melting of the insulation, shorting out, fires and smoke, which could damage the robot's components and possibly cause injury. However, some robots have been saved by hobbyists/owners rewiring the robot.
