Welcome to the Digital World
The Byte Bin is all about life in the digital sense. Whether it's robots, artificial intelligence, cyborgs, or virtual worlds. This is a place where you can see how we are creating our own worlds and enhancing our lives through technology.
Do you own a robot? Do you want to learn to program them? In the 1990s that may have caused someone to laugh. Now we have robots in our home to entertain us. Some can even be programmed to do household chores. There are also many hobbyists that are building and programming their own robot systems, including replicas of those made famous by TV and Movies. The Robot Lab has details and information on many robots, and maybe even how to build and program them! |
While in 2010 we don't yet have a real Artificial Intelligence system, though many have come pretty close with complicated neural network systems. Much research is still being done even by hobbyists. The AI Lab has some ideas, articles, etc. Some day, it is hoped that a sentient AI system will be "born". For now, we are working with fuzzy logic, NLP, Neural Networks and chatbots to learn how a computer could emulate biological thinking processes. |
The internet has opened up a whole new world. Life is nothing at all like it used to be in the 1990s. We have cell phones, computers and all kinds of other devices, some even in our cars which deliver to us email, news, weather, movies, music, and many other types of content. You can even read a book without turning a physical paper page! How did we get where we are? Are we changing into another species entirely? The Digital Life area is a place to explore the possibilities of the future! |
